Hi There,

I am trying out PowerDVD 13 Ultra (trial version). When I launch from Media Center, there is no sound. If I launch directly from the desktop, it plays back perfectly.

Can anybody help?

Also, I am wondering if there is a way to launch PowerDVD directly into Cinema mode from the command line and force it to full screen.

TIA,

Jason

I should actually further clarify -

I am trying to launch PowerDVD from Media Browser in MCE. If I use the plugin that was installed by PowerDVD, it works. To use it with Media Browser, you need to supply a command line.

I am trying to find out if this is possible. I want to start the MCE plugin from a command line.

TIA,

Jason

Hi Michael,

First - thanks for the reply. Its great to see such a quick response from a member of the Cyber team. Kudos.

I did see the sticky. The problem (for me) was that the actual executable on my install is called "PDVDLP.exe" and not "PowerDVDLaunchPolicy.exe". I did figure this out on my own, but just confusing when you're trying to troubleshoot.

I actually tinkered enough that I could get PowerDVD to launch by directly calling "C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD13\Movie\PowerDVD Cinema\PowerDVDCinema13.exe" from Media Center. All works, except using this method PowerDVD is not MC aware (no back button, volume control etc...)

When I received your post, I tried using PDVDLP. It launches, but the application ends up minimized (because of Media Browser). I fumbled around enough to get past that problem, but PowerDVD is still not MC aware.

Is there a way to launch PowerDVD from inside MC that will make it aware of MC?

Thanks again,

J.

Hi,
I guess "MC" = Windows Media Center?

PDVD installs MediaCenter plug-in automatically so it seems you have other issues with your platform?
