I really wish I had reviewed this product before buying it. It is absolutely one of the worst pieces of software I have ever purchased. It has a new battery of errors and technical issues every time I try and play a legitimate blue ray disc. One movie for example would play fine (after tweaking PowerDVD 12's configurations for an hour), and a few days later, would not play at all. My computer more than meets the required specs, leading me to believe that this is just an over complicated, over priced, and poorly designed piece of software that is neither consistent or user friendly. I do not recommend this to anyone, as having now read the reviews, it appears that numerous people have experienced similar issues. The funniest thing is, I use to have PowerDVD 9, and it worked fine.

I am also disgruntled Cyberlink user now that they have included Cinavia into their software. No one can claim that Cinavia is in the user's interest but I would not give up on DVD12 just yet. Your rant does not indicate what steps you have taken to solve the problems you are having. I know that dirty discs out of date drivers and players can have drastic effect on disc replay. My system was approved by the BD advisor but proved incapable of playing on a consistent basis dual layer discs. I suggest you refer your problems to Cyberlink's technical support section.

@goldshalk:
Well, there are many people here using PowerDVD 12 to watch a very large variety of blu-ray discs, so the problem most likely comes from your side. I had a weird bug with the Star Wars movies a couple of weeks ago, and it revealed being a faulty graphic card driver and I had to revert to an older, non bugged one. Otherwise, I have 108 blu-ray discs which all play without any problem.

You should use the process described in the sticky thread to post your system configuration: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/21448.page

Have you used the Cyberlink BD and 3D advisor on your PC? http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/bd-support/enu/index.jsp

@malone88:
The ranting about Cinavia is quite pointless for now... only a few rather crappy movies have that stupid protection. Even the latest big releases like Skyfall don't have that crap.
And the inability to playback double layer discs can come from your BD drive hardware too... a firmware update can help for that.
