in edit mode, in the preview window, instead of playing immediately each clip is being slowly rendered, stalling the editing process.
Previously the only rendering occurred when inserting transitions etc.

Just having posted this, I noticed a previous post
"Re:Constant rendering while trying to edit problem with nVidia drivers"
Up to now I have been very pleased with the program.
This problem has only just started.
The only changes to my computer that I am aware of would be the Windows updates.
Disabling the hardware acceleration in PD has no effect on the problem.
Tried to do the same on the NVidia Panel, it would not change.
Next step I guess is to roll back the drivers as suggested, or perhaps reinstall PD.
Any comments appreciated. RobertA101

I really did a search for this, but my original query was worded wrong and didn't bring up a result.
Amazing what further reading brings up.
Thanks to previous all previous helpers.
The solution is covered at http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/25716.page
Roll back the NVidia driver, and disable auto Windows updates or the driver will be spoiled again.
