The detailed issue description:

So, I recently purchased the PowerDVD 12 Ultra upgrade to upgrade from PowerDVD 10. I installed it, and right from the start it was slow. I started the software before going on a 5 day vacation, thinking it may need to index my library (which is a decent size music/picture collection), and when I got back after 5 days, it was still slow. When I checked TaskManager, I saw that my system was running over 500 processes! Most of these processes were duplicates, and they all had to do with DivX (can't remember the exact process). I also noticed that my task bar (by the clock) was full of DivX Setting Manager icons (like, over 200 of them). If I hovered my mouse over them, they instantly closed, but the processes stayed in TM. I restarted, tried loading it again, and it immediately started loading more of the DivX Settings Manager.

I decided to reformat my system and start clean, just in case something went wrong during install. Reinstalled PowerDVD 10 (since my PowerDVD 12 license is an upgrade), and then upgraded to PowerDVD 12. I did not install any other media players, the only ones on my computer are Windows Media Player and Media Center. It started much faster this time, and it only took a day to process all of my media files into its database. I thought I was out of the woods, but it is once again running slow.

I start it up, and it is loading about 2 copies of DivX Settings Manager per minute. I uninstalled DivX (not even sure how it got installed), but it still is loading DivX Settings Manager some how.

I open task manager, and I see that several PowerDVD processes are maxing out my processor, including CLMSServerPDVD12.exe, PowerDVD12.exe, vthumbPDVD12.exe, CLMSMediaInfoPDVD12.exe. Those 4 processes are maxing out my CPU.

Why is it doing this? Any ideas?

Hi,

my suggestion:

1. set the Realtek device as default system audio and disable the USB device and check if this can cure the issue
2. provide the eventlog: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/21448.page#123470

Also, just an update, if I use it to listen to music by using the My Computer browser inside of PDVD12, it runs fine. The moment I click one of the libraries under My Libraries, it freezes.

You might also want to add the logs created under Event Viewer, it's generated by Windows.
