Dear Roger,

no, that's not what I'am saying.

We will release a new patch soon - but I can not talk about release schedules in this Forum.
This new Patch will also solve the issue with several AV solutions.

The reported issue is caused by BitDefender AV solution and not a real PowerDVD issue

So let me report that the full issue is more than only restricted to that case.
I don't use Bit Defender. My AV is Antivir, by the way.
To be sure, I've just made an another try (I've probably yet tried it, but we must be sure, here). I've desactivated Antivir, quit my Firewall (Comodo) and launch a BR (Up from Pixar) => Zone select screen (this is the first time, bla, bla), remaining number of change = zero, OK, the same screen appear a second time, OK, loading bar and error 800401F9 (internal error, contact support).

Hope this case will help, but I don't think the solution is to be searched in the AV side

Hi Michael and thanks for the quick reply,

Yes ! I am the administrator and I have also tried the fix you proposed.
Only comment is that the procedure doesn't show up the exact same way as described ???

Result = no Success

I have had this problem before with the 2320 upgrade ( PowerDVD 9 Ultra dated 2009-11-27 ) . Then a new version came PDVD9_Ultra_2320_DVD091223-01_R2.exe which solved the error 1402 + 1603.

After installing the above mentioned I had the 800401F9 instead

And now I am back to 1402 + 1603
+ that I don´'t know whether the 800401F9 is solved !

My setup is :

W7 64bit
Norton Internet Seciruty 2010
Nvidia 8600GT
ASUS Xonar
E6750

What is going on ???

lo ppl

ok I downloaded the latest patch as michael informed us

installed oringel power dvd 7.3 ver
then upgraded to powerdvd 9 ulta
then installed the next patch
and finaly the latest patch.

Didnt work same error but then decided to restart pc from cold and hey presto finally it works (so far ) will try again tonight when i get home

MY question is do i need to install all that i listed to get this to work in future or will there ber released a final version that includes all above in one install as it is rather long winded but hey it does work at last .

thanks michael and team for that.

Great news.

Patch downloaded, launched as administrator, a BR inserted, the region popup WITH 5 TRIES LEFT :, BR loading ... And it works. At last !!

Thanks Cyberlink for the patch, and sorry for all the doubts I've mentioned above, but it was pretty long to release and it's no confort to see a so big company having so much difficulties to release a patch.

Hope it will work for everyone, and enjoy your BR again

Please uninstall Power DVD.
This next operation is critical. Remove Registry key and delete all install folder name cyberlink.
Install Original PDVD9 than install patch 2528. BD Region should now show 5..

Regards
Hope this helps.

I have also been getting the 800401F9 error since I updated Power DVD 9.0 Ultra. Followed the advise of a support query and used microsoft cleaner to remove Power DVD and then removed the Power DVD folders and removed the registry entries as recommended. I then re-installed Power DVD with this download: PowerDVD/PDVD9_2528_TaRe45_DVD091125-11.exe. I still had the 800401F9 error and the region pop-up with 0 tries left. I then ran the patch CyberLink.2528(TaRe45)(Pa_DVD091203-02. I still am getting the region pop-up with 0 remaining tries and can't play Blu-rays. Any suggestions on what to try next?
