I understand. Your results look very nice and this actually looks like a problem with the GEForce Experience app.

What happens if you uninstall the GEFE app first, and then download and install the 359.06 driver from the NVidia website? This time, uncheck the box for the GEFE as shown in the bottom of the window on my previous screen capture.

I would expect that the runtime error will go away and you'll have full resolution available!

December is a busy month.

However, I have found out that the nVidia update that causes the audio to disappear on PC comes with Windows updates.

It's called:

nVidia - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3, Graphics Adapter WDDM2.0, Other hardware - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970.

I have tried this update several times with the same result. PDR 14.0.4207.0 / Windows 10 64-bit / Asus / Intel i7-4790 3.60 GHz / 16GB RAM / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 / DirectX 12

Make sure you leave PhysX System Software checked.
Also check Perform a Clean Installation.

Sounds like you may be running off of the Nvidia audio drivers.

Anja the Dane - I think that we are narrowing down the audio problem after reading Skibum's comment. The majority of users here may be using external speakers and therefore not affected by the hdmi audio which is probably not used on most user's pc so no problem is seen with the new driver. Your DxDiag show that you were not using the realtek but hdmi for sound. This points to the new nvidia driver as the problem.

Your Asus brand monitor has a pair of 3 watt stereo speakers built in for hdmi audio. This is easily fixed. Connect a 1/8" mini stereo patch cord from the pc speaker out to the audio in on the monitor. Change the audio default from hdmi to speaker and get audio again.

If you get audio after making the change above then this is probably a nVidia driver issue the Dafydd already reported: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/46311.page#240948 . This points to the new nvidia driver as the problem and should be reported to nVidia.

skibum, the PhysX library is only used for gaming and a few engineering and virtual reality programs where the system needs to accurately model the physics of moving objects. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhysX

As far as I'm aware, PD doesn't use it in any way so it can be uninstalled if you don't have any other need for it. I've kept it uninstalled for several years and haven't run into any issues.

With that said, it doesn't seem to cause any of the headaches that the 3D Vision or the older Miracast driver did for PD users and I think there's usually no harm in leaving it installed.

Paul1945 - Glad that you have no problem with the new nVidia drivers. You say that you use the realtek for audio and not the hdmi audio supplied by those drivers. Anja's Dxdiag.txt show that she uses the hdmi audio as the default.

I'd be a little careful and do some basic testing to see if you get what you want. PD14 V2302 had issues for my initial HA encoding screen evaluation, for instance:
1) 1920x1080 M2TS, H.264 24Mbps is encoded at only 17Mbps for GTX970, GTX960, GTX650... which is substantially less than previous versions and results in loss of quality. Affects both "Produce" and "Create Disc" with this stated profile.
2) Similar significant bitrate reduction for other profiles too, but not all profiles so it depends what profile exactly you use for your produced projects with HA encoding. Affects noted in both WIN10 and WIN7 as well.
