Quote: Michael,
welcome to the forum of volunteers. I have never ever seen a subtitles fade in/out. That's not to say it's never happened, it's just rather uncommon.
As for your calling it a "bug", that is just simply incorrect terminology, a lack of a feature is not a bug, it's "by design".

Michael quickly became joeo who will report the subtitle bug because they are called titles in powerdirector and all other video editing software.

Hi JoeO and all -

Like optodata, I was thinking that some posts in this thread appeared to be confusing the terms "titles" and "subtitles" and that may be the case.

Joe - I installed VideoPad after reading this then made a little subtitled video to see what it does. Its subtitle feature works in pretty much the same way as PDR's. There is no fade in/out that I can find. If I'm missing something, please help me find it laughing To test, I exported the little video and stepped through the subtitled sections frame by frame...

At 00:00:04:06, there's no subtitle. At 00:00:04:07, there is. No fade. It just "bangs in" like PDR's subtitles.

From VideoPad, I exported the .srt file (containing the subtitle formatting) and imported it into PDR for comparison. They look remarkably similar! I'll send it to YouTube so you can see.

Cheers - Tony

Here you go Joe.

PDR's subtitles are yellow & VideoPad's are white.

Help me out with those fades if you can.

Cheers - Tony

Hola - Sorry about the name confusion - there was a lag on my registration for some reason so it just used a name from this computer.

In VideoPad Overlay Track you should be able to see a 'Fading' checkbox (aka radio button) for any given overlay.

I would paste an image in...but I don't see how to do that yet! I see the insert file button but I am looking to just copy & paste it in...

Just to clarify - in VideoPad, are you clicking on ADD TEXT button or the SUBTITLE button?

When I choose Subtitle, it is NOT added to an overlay track, but the ADD TEXT is. VideoPad seems to handle text track and Subtitle the same as VideoPad.

I just downloaded the latest version so if you have a different version, it may not be the same.

Hi People,
While this thread has become lively with a discussion, it is still a hijacked thread where the OP has no part in it, been answered etc. JoeO's post on the 18/04/2015 started it and members have responded.
Please check out the guides about promoting third party software.
