FYI here is a link to the output.m2ts (created from your sample run through FIXPD9) - it opens fine for me in "tsMuxerGUI"

BINGO

Thanks to your idiot-proof instructions all went well and I was able to run a 6min long 60P video file through the muxer and produce a 60P blu-ray disc. It included the metronome at beginning and end, there was no noticeable change in sync.

TsMuxer had an error "Bad SEI detected,SEI too short". Have no idea what that means.

Thank you jmone for not giving up on me!.

Now it would be nice if the R&D people became aware of this and fixed their products. Apparently not enough people use the 60P format, so not enough complaints.

I bought the 900 camera a few weeks ago, it was on sale so I could not resist. Basically same as yours, mine has a view finder very handy since I have a tremor in my left hand, so I can nicely steady the camera by holding it close to my head.

Glad it is working for you. FYI, SEI (Supplemental enhancement information) is part of the h.264 spec (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC) used to holding extra information ... seems PD does not use it (or writes the headers poorly) - who knows... but as you see the files play fine. Thanks Gents!

I've fixed my 1920x1080/50p .m2ts file with FIXPD9.
Then it will play on my PS3!

So this is the best way to have the best quality on my PS3?
For example a 1920x1080/50p Mpeg-4 output has less quality?

My next question:
How to make the 1920x1080/50p AVCHD disk work on my PS3?
If I do this in powerdirector on a memory stick the PS3 won't play it...

Thank you very much!

What is so very annoying is the fact that this 60P problem existed in PD9, and thanks to jmone for writing this program.
But then came PD10 and it was not fixed and now we have PD 11 and apparently still no fix!!! Very disheartening!!

I will give it a try. Problem is that I shoot everything at 60P meaning a bitrate up to 28Mb. So making a AVCHD disc would require a lower, 17Mb bit rate, that in turn would mean re-encoding, thus loosing the benefit of proxy or smart rendering. In other words second generation.

I made a 60i 1920x1080 AVCHD disc from 60P material, with a BR of 17Mb.

The result is quite acceptable to the casual viewer. There are however the usual and fairly obvious re-encoding artifacts in low contrast areas.

And in slowly panning, most of these attributable to the interlaced format.

So using 17Mb source material would do better.

PDFIX9 HAS to be used to do this. It's output.m2ts file is run through TsMuxer and then burned with Roxio.

Works fine in my 2 year old Samsung, it even plays 60P after a firmware upgrade.
