Max: Another old DOS codger chiming in. We've come a long way since DOS 2.0, haven't we?

I always make it a habit to download program files to my DOWNLOADS folder; then, after the program is installed, I move the files from the Downloads folder to the root folder of the program that just installed. Then weekly, me and Acronis, backup the system and validate (always keeping 3 versions of the system backup in case something corrupted the most recent version), plus I always place a copy of the original download files on a 250 ZIP drive (old technology I know, but I have a whack of them and had my ZIP 250 drive transferred to my new custom computer).

To show you how anal-retentive I am, I then use Notepad to create a .txt file with the licence key, which is also stored in the root program folder and on the ZIP 250. It is much cheaper (I am a Scot by descent) than paying for "Extended Download Privileges" for a year. Haven't lost anything yet.

Have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil

Well, all I can say is WOW.

Last night, about 11:30pm, I sent Cyberlink a message telling them my problem about being unable to find the correct files so I could put PD9 on my new PC. Less than a day later they supply me with a link to re-download the program.

They didn't even have me go and try a bunch of different things that I've already tried. They were simply kind enough to help me with my issue right away. I am very impressed with this level of service that Cyberlink has given me in this situation.

Rest assured, I fully intend on saving these files now and burning them to a disk so this problem won't happen again. Thanks to everyone who was so kind as to attempt to assist me with my problem.

As was stated earlier by another forum member, I would recommend to anyone reading this that they find those files and burn them to a disk for safe keeping.

Thank you Cyberlink.

Hopefully you now know that you need to keep track of where you download things to. I would suggest a file simply called Downloads..... Mine is called Crap.... because ... well never mind... __________________________________________

Not only should you burn a disk of the downloaded files, but also copies of the email with the CD key.
Write a Text file with the CD Keys.

Burn all of those items to a Disk, that way you have all of the necessary files and information to reinstall PowerDirector.

That is good practice to do for any downloaded program. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.
