I also have a problem with Power DVD Ultra Mark II. It is updated and all drivers are up-to-date, and 3D vision works in games, and Cyberlink 10 with files and DVDs, but it doesn't like RE: Afterlife. It spits out this:
In some OEM versions, CyberLink PowerDVD cannot output Blu-ray and CPRM disc content to analog display devices due to copy protection. To play this content, you must use a display device with a DVI or HDMI input interface that supports HDCP copyright protection
As weird as that sounds I have an ASUS 120hz 3D monitor using DVI. My computer specs are as follows:
i7 980X at stock speed (3.33)
GTX 480 (also stock, but factory overclocked by Zotac)
BD-ROM is a LG BD-ROM Rewritable
Sound card is a Creative X-Fi Titanium
LAN Card is a Bigfoot Killer Xeno Pro
Speakers are connected using optical and are Z5500s
Total HDD space is 7 TB (7200rpm Seagate) SSD is main C drive.
Mobo: MSi Big Bang Power 6Gb/s, USB 3.0
Case: Coolermaster HAF X
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO
Thermal paste: Artic Silver 5
System/CPU temp: 31C both CPU and Northbridge/Southbridge
RAM: 24GB, 1066, CAS 7, DDR3 (obviously)
Running perfect on Windows 7 Professional 64bit
Monitor: Asus VG236H 23" 2ms 1920x1080 Full HD 120Hz 3D multimedia
It has to be the disk/region problem, seems like the US version has extreme DRM on the disk to prevent 3D. However, I will check out the alternative player the OP mentioned, sad really, I've been a long supporter of PowerDVD..
Edit: I noticed the OP has the same BD Drive... hmmm might be the common denominator there.
Also, I don't have any anti-virus program on this system (built yesturday), I do have Norton, but it interferes with some games, so, neg on that. I don't pirate and use Mozilla with noscript to prevent ActiveX exploits and the like.. so I need not fear. I also don't browse the web haphazardly.
I'm also in Texas... another common denominator?
UPDATE: Tried using the alternative player and says I am not HDCP compatible.. hmmm weird.. I have DVI! Why would I use SVGA or VGA? I'm not living in the Windows 3.1 era! Might as well say I'm using Monochrome..
All other Blu-Ray disks and DVDs play fine, but this is my only 3D Movie... and it plays in the old 3D way, Red and Blue, but I don't want it to play like some 1980s Jaws movie..
I got this from a comment post:
Just tested with PowerDVD 10 Mark II Version 10.0.1830.51 and playback is perfect - tried a variety of BD titles. Looks good at 120Hz (no stuttering). HDCP apparently does work over the DVI-D datapath.

Funny, that this pops up only when I try 3D Blu-Ray and not anywhere else.
