I have been working on my "finished project" all day!!!...All I want to do is burn to DVD. No matter what I try it seems to get stuck always at 36%...I have no idea how to get past this point. I have been doing everything right as far as I know. I am sooo ready to chew Cyberlink Voice Support out tomorrow (of course because they are NOT open on weekends) I have tried changing pictures, transitions, and music at the 36% mark with no change) Please any advice would be helpful since I have to burn this project by tomorrow night...Pleeeeeaaasseee.....

I have already answered you here, in my opinion your computer is not powerful enough when using a 252 meg integrated graphics chip when trying to render a 30 gig video.

oh, haha, maybe I do not know what I am doing? I believe now that I can burn to disc without producing project first?? So I tried to do that...and when I was burning to disc (or folder- doesn't matter cuz I tried that too) it always stops at 36%...my project is 6935MB. I cannot produce or burn past 36%, no clue.

Blazy, have you been able to produce any project past that 36% barrier in the past, or have you tried producing a different, basic project, just to see if you can get past 36%? Did a forum search turn up anyone else with a similar problem in any of the Power Director versions? -AC

this is my first and only project. My girlfriend has helped me through it as she has created a perfect DVD she has sent me to view. The ONLY difference between my completed project and her completed project is that I have video on mine....both AVI files and WMV files at the very end of my project..is that the problem?

In my opinion, the AVI and WMV files at the end are inconsequential because you're running into the brick-wall at 36% of rendering, which is long before the WMV/AVI content it encountered.

Hopefully, some members with extensive PD9 experience will chime-in to help you. This forum has been invaluable for yours truly. Good luck BlazyTracy. I'm sure you'll come out OK.

HP model p6774y...

Your computer CPU, AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 840T should be OK, your hard drive is good and plenty of open space... your video card, or should I say integrated video may be your issue. The ATI Radeon HD 4200 only specs out with 256 meg memory. That's not enough to edit or produce well in PD9. Your video drivers are 13 months old.

If you have an open PCIe or PCI or even AGP slot you can disable on board graphics and might consider installing a better video card.

Hi,
1. Please supply a screenshot of the Edit Workspace - so we can see the content and what you have going?
2. I suggest you split your project into 4 chunks. By carrying out the following.
a) Create 5 saved .pds files
Go to: File > Save project as > 001.pds to 005.pds
b) Now you need to use the pds' and reduce the project down to a quarter for each one. 005.pds is your back up, so don't alter it in any way. Please work on 001.pds and save the first quarter and delete the remaining 3/4 of the project.
Go to 002.pds and remove the first quarter and the second half. Please continue and so you have a quarter of the project in each of the 4 pds files.
c) Please now open each in turn and Produce the project to DVDHQ mpeg2.
d) We are looking for a possible fault on the track and making a workaround so you can complete the task. If an error shows up - isolate the pds but continue to produce all three.
e) If you've successfully produced all 4 projects to mpeg2, you can now proceed and bring all 4 videos back into PD and output to DVD.
f) If you have failed on one of the four, you will need to inform the forum and provide a screenshot etc.

The aim here is to get you to complete your task and to isolate the cause of the problem. It is likely a media file you have is corrupt and this is the cause of the issue.

In the post http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/16899.page#85013 Robert gave instruction to test your system.

If the Production of all pds' fails then you need to follow the basic test Robert has outlined.

Thanks
Dafydd
