I have been trying to produce my project for a week now (or longer) - it stops producing always at 4.5GB produced, with 25.9GB remaining - Free space shows 844.3GB and Used Space shows 73.9GB...please help, I have to "burn" this project and cannot even produce it? Also, do you have to produce your project first before you burn it?

I have already tried burning without Producing several times..the lastest try was to burn to a folder and it always gets stuck at 36% burned....I am almost ready to give up, I have tried EVERYTHING!! I just want to burn my disc to a dvd so I can watch it, that is all I want to do!

I had a look at your dxdiag.txt file and you only have an integrated graphics chip with only 252meg of dedicated video ram. My opinion is the minimum you need to do especially when dealing with a 30gig video file is to install a proper video card in your computer.

Editing video is one of the hardest things you will ask you computer to do and you will need all the power you can get. I don't know anything about AMD cpu's but it seems OK.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but many people are caught in the trap of needing to upgrade their computer when they start editing video. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn

Also, you said it is 30GB, but you want to burn it to "DVD". Do you mean Blu-Ray, or what format are you trying to produce it to? That should not effect the Produce phase, but producing to a smaller format may make life easier for you if you don't need a 30GB file. __________________________________

I am sorry. I am trying to understand this whole thing..maybe I gave you the wrong info previously? I have my project (open with PowerDirector) saved on my desktop and when I opened Properties it said that it was 3.73MB pds properties. Does that help? I am lost on what to do next other than call Cyberlink tomorrow so any suggestions would really help..

Ah the learning curve of video editing.

The pds file is just the instructions for PowerDirector to use to produce the video the way you want it. It is not the video it is just a set of instructions.

My advice at this stage is to open up a new project, drag about 4 or 5 copies of the default nature.mpg to the time line, a couple of the default photos put in a couple of transitions and produce that. This will at least let you know if your computer can produce a very basic video using videos that we know work.
