Cyberlink Powerdirector ads gone

Are the ads removed in Powerdirector 8 Create Disk module?

I had them disabled in Internet explorer, and have removed the block and have re-installed Internet Explorer 8.

Yet the Cyberlink ads do not appear anymore.

I found what was blocking my ads.

Tony had a Page on blocking the cyberlink ads.

I had added that line in my Hosts file.
My hosts file had liveupdate.cyberlink.com in it.

I deleted that line.

Ads are back. At least I know what blocked the ads.

Hi Carl

My anti-virus software is McAfee and (most anti virus software offer this - Norton- AVG etc) I've selected 'block' in the 'permissions' area to prevent PDR8 from accessing the internet.

Ya, these ads are so friggn annoying. It should be banned from pruchased software.
