Vanishing Audio Waveforms

Audio Waveforms are not showing on several of my projects. The Audio is there, but no waveforms. Yes, I have tried clicking on, "Regenerate Waveform". I desperately need to be able to see my audio waveforms. How can I fix this, please?

Many Thanks in advance

Thank you very much for your response. I took the steps you advised but unfortunately, nothing changed. I clicked, "Remove All Unused Content", Saved as a new project, and restarted my computer altogether. I didn't see the "Empty the Library" option when I right-clicked in the library so I'm assuming that this selection has been removed.

I think you're right about the missing library option.

The next most likely cause is that the audio codec your clips use isn't fully supported by PD. You can try converting the clip to a more standard format using a free third party app like Handbrake or ClipChamp, or use the Attachments button below the forum's text box to upload a short clip here for other people to test.

I have VLC and Handbrake. How do I change the audio codec with either of these programs, please?

With Handbrake, load the clip you want to convert and take a look at the Summary tab as shown in the top section of the screenshot below. Take note of the current audio codec, then choose one of the presets (at the top right of the app window) or go straight to the Audio tab and select a different option as shown in the bottom half:

I tried all the options but unfortunately, none of them worked.

As mentioned in the other thread, you should also submit a request to CL tech support to report the issue.

You could also share the clip here as I wrote earlier so other people can see if they have the same problem, which can help determine if the issue is with the clip, with PD or with your system.

Toaster Dementros, it's a little unclear what you've provided with file Clip.wav. It appears you've produced an audio file in PD from your clip and posted. If so, your original video is what was requested, but it appears your original may be a movie, Wind River.

PD should properly display the timeline wav display of your Clip.wav file if used in the timeline as it is basic PCM, as I indicated, created by PD it appears.

I have never emptied my media cache. Could this have anything to do with the issue at hand? If it could, how do I empty my media cache, please?

pref > Media Cache > Manually Delete

make sure sound waveform is enabled, pref > General > Show sound waveform...

Nothing really unique about audio codec, it's basic aac audio in this mp4 file, PD should show waveform in timeline with no conversion.

Thank you very much for your help. I cleared my Media Cache and restarted my computer but still no waveforms.
