Please see if SVRT selects an audio codec

I recorded a movie off the air using my USB TV stick and its included ArcSoft software.

I imported it into PD 15 (2509 beta with the latest audio patch) and trimmed out the commercials.

I produced it using SVRT which worked really well. (1 minute for a 1.5 hour movie.)

I should have checked it first with a media player, but I burned it to DVD.

When I played it in our player for TV watching, no audio!

I went back to PD and found that the codec was blank in the "Audio" tab on the SVRT profile. (To be clear, the main SVRT profile page showed some type of audio. It was when I clicked on the Audio tab that I got a blank selection for "Audio Compression.")

When I force it to be Dolby, the sound works fine. But the original media wasn't Dolby. According to MediaInfo, it is AC-3.

Then I reinstalled the latest patch and now SVRT always selects Dolby. Which works. Just strange that something changed.

So if you have time, I would be curious to know what someone with a non-beta patched PD gets.

Here's a link to a short file of the same type as my movie.

AC-3 is Dolby. See this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC3 .

The download link you supplied does not allow a download on my IE.

Well, d'oh, I feel stupid. So I guess that there was a glitch in SVRT and it didn't automagically select the correct audio compressor. Thanks. P.S. I tried the link again for the file. It works for me. (Should take you to the WikiSend page, where you can click a download button.)

You can use any audio format you wish, SVRT does not utilize audio info for acceptability, just video. Audio is always encoded per CL here: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/50993.page#post_box_268119
