Slow Moving Render Progress Box Suddenly Appears Above Timeline after Video Card Driver Update

Power Director 9 was working great....like a dream. Then I decided to update the video card drivers after seeing a message about a new driver being available in a popup window in the system tray. So I downloaded it from the NVIDIA website and shut down the computer, being done for the evening. The next day, I started POWER DIRECTOR and noticed something shocking I'd NEVER seen before-

Now suddenly all media added to the timeline must render, painstakingly slow, before being played or previewed- even a still image. A strange new render progress box now appears, as well as a green horizontal line above the file to indicate sections that have been rendered. I don't get it, Power Director always just played anything I dropped into the timeline, without any render box. Please Help!!!

This is a known problem and there are numerous threads on the forum about it including this one. A patch has been provided for PD10 and PD11 but the only solution for PD9 and earlier is to roll back to an older video driver. Regards,
Mike

Great thanks a lot Mike, that worked great! Rolling back my NVIDIA GT 430 driver to version 301.42 took care of that issue. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us No more render box. So I guess I won't be updating my video card driver anytime soon! **View profile for system specifics
