The input files are camcorder video 1920x1080 interlaced 25fps and 1920x1080 progressive 50fps from Panasonic HD camcorders.
I have done tests using PD9 and PD10 and on 2 different computers.
A desktop PC with an intel i7 950 CPU with 12GB ram and 2ea 1TB HDDs, with Windows 7 64bit.
Initially this PC had an ATI Radeon 1Gb 5870 Graphics card but it now has a Nvidia 1Gb GTX 560 graphics card.
The other tests were done on an Acer Laptop running an Intel Core i3-2310M SandyBridge CPU with integrated Graphics and 6GB ram & Win 7 64bit.
During normal editing both PCs handle the files with no real problems, even the laptop performed ok.
However during production whenever I select SVRT in PD9 or PD10 on either system the results ALWAYS have glitches and stutters after each transition.
It seems that SVRT is only sucessful if the video clips are placed on the timeline with no transitions of any kind.
I export to AVCHD files and with PD10 use an output format of 1920x1080P 50fps, even for the 25fps interlaced source files.
As long as I do NOT produce using SVRT the results are excellent when viewed with Splash Lite, VLC and Windows Media Player.
When played from a USB flash drive or hard disk onto the HD TV via a media player the results are superb.
I changed from an ATI video card to Nvidia mainly to improve PD9 as it seemed that Nvidia CUDA was better suited to that program but I am not sure if this is still the case with PD10.Cyberlink make great claims for SVRT so I would expect it to work and reduce rendering times without spoiling the resultant video files.
Is there anybody out there that can use SVRT and transitions on similar AVCHD files without the glitches?
