I successfully edited a converted VHS video down to 1 hr. 33 min. After production, it's too large for a 4.7 GB DVD. I don't understand this! It doesn't matter if I produce it with DVD HQ, Mpeg 1 or SP and Mpeg2. How can this be? suggestions??

A standard high quality video that is capable to fit onto a DVD is somewhat around 1 hour. In your case you will need two DVDs, please split your video and burn; or alternativelly, watch it on your PC or through a portable media storage. Read not to contradict and confute, nor to believe and take for granted... but to weigh and consider.

Can't speak from experience, don't burn too many discs, but maybe this post will help :-

Search for smartfit returns these from the PD7 forum :-

I was having the same problem. So I spent 60 bucks on a dual layer external dvd burner. I never use PD to produce a DVD, I only produce to a file on my computer as I do not care for any of the PD DVD menu options. I then use Windows DVD maker as it has a menu that I really like and use on all my 1 1/2 hour plus videos. And it never fails to produce a DVD. Sure dual layer cost a little more, but you can do SO MUCH MORE too.

PD 8, Win7 (worked with Vista also)
