Next question.....
I've placed a downloaded soundtrack onto the timelinbe. The track is there, but there's no sound when I playback the film. I.ve checked it in Sound director, and it plays there, but not on the timeline. Cheers, Norman

Hi,

Do you mean no sound when played from the timeline, or no sound when produced?

If it is the timeline, check the track is enabled and check the clip is not muted. A screenshot of your timelines would be useful.

If it is after production, then details of your production profile would help, as would some analysis of the produced file - use MediaInfo online or similar and post the output as an attachement.

To start with:
The obvious is to check whether the sound track has sound when played from the media room? (indication whether sound in PD works).
If in the timeline, check whether the sound track has been disabled. (Yellow lock)? or the volume has been turned down?

Attached is the screenshot. I tried the clip in the sound app, and it plays. It's a Power director clip. I couldn't find anywhere to enable it, and the link/unlink audio on the film clip is greyed out.
Sorry for the delay- first time back at my PC!

Hi,

I'm not sure what's going on.

For completness can you give the exact version of PDR?
https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/97579.page#post_box_392512

Both your PDR and Win 11 speaker icons show as live, if you go to View>Show Timeline Preview Volume Meter and select it does the volume meter show any activity when the audio clip is played?

Cheers

The volume meter is working away as I play the clip.
There was an audio track on the original clips, which was unwanted (too much chatting and railway sounds). I unlinked all those audio lines. Could that be why I can't re-link the audio, and if that's the case, how do I proceed?
Thanks in anticipation.

Aaaargh! The volume in the preview window was right down- working now. Silly mistake, and I'm sorry for troubling you. No doubt you'll be hearing from me again on another matter (blind 72 year olds shouldn't be let loose on tech!)
