Uploading hours of footage from a phone via bluetooth to my mac isnt a goer fo editing....how do you guys all get your footage on to the mac qucikly to work on it? thanks for any and ALL help for a newbie xx

Hi,

I'm not a mac user so cannot offer direct experience but, perhaps depending on the mac version, a usb cable transfer using something like SmartSwitch or Android File Transfer might work?

I use usb cable transfer all the time for android/win11 transfer/backup.

Couple of links - I can't vouch for their validity/accuracy tho -
https://www.verizon.com/articles/how-to-connect-an-android-phone-to-a-mac/
https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s/how-to-transfer-photos-and-videos-from-samsung-s22-ultra-to/td-p/16330720

Does that help?

Cheers

I would use a USB cable or the the SD/Memory card reader rather than BT.
Both on my Smart Phone (iPhone) and on my PC I have DROPBOX installed. (I know this works for Mac too. It should work for Android too?). Once a day or as frequent as necessary I open the Dropbox app on my phone. It automatically recognizes which photos and videos have not been uploaded yet and uploads those to the Camera uploads folder. All I have to do when the new batch of media files arrives on the PC is put them in my media archive folders, this keeps the Dropbox folders as empty as possible (I use the free version which allows 2Gb max and 3 devices to sync with.) As long as the size of the files are average this works fast and well. For the larger files, or when I am in hurry, I use USB.
