Try this: Go to Preferences/Editing and check the box for Enlarge timeline track for audio track. You may have to unlink the video and audio to remove down tp 1/10 frame accuracy the audio you don’t want heard.

Okay, that shows me sections between frames but it automatically goes to the next frame and not individually in between.

You need to expand the timeline ruler down to max frame level and then unlink the video and audio. higlight the portion of the audio and not the video so that you can remove only the audio portion that you don't want at either end.

I'm zoomed all the way in and expanded the ruler but a Green line is only visible when I highlight each frame and I think it's suppose to be a Green highlight on every little section?

Is there an option like a free scroll? so it doesn't automatically go to the next section but anywhere exact I want?

Hi,

Firstly Unlink audio and video with Rt Click> Link/Unlink....

The timeline scrubber only moves 1 frame at a time, so you cannot use split and delete "in between" frames for audio even when unlinked.

However you can move or, in your case, shorten the audio by 1/10th frame increments to give an audio adjustement to the half a frame you require.

No, that didn't work either. I can't seem to split then drag exactly what I want to remove becuase it either takes it to the frame before or after of my exact target area I want.

Kind of seems pointless to split then drag it where you initially wanetd to cut it. You should be able to just split exaclty where you want it. So you're telling me that I have to have bits that I don't want in my video?
That's actually very disappointing that it can't split exactly where you want it then it can move to the nearest frame afterwards..

Seems like there's either a miscommunication or misunderstanding. The minimum unit is a video frame, and there's no way to have only part of a frame in a video. However, you can move the audio in 1/10th frame increments once you've unlinked it from an associated video clip.

Another option is to set the project's frame rate to 50/60 frames/second, and if you have source video that's 25/30 you'll be able to move the audio with 1/20th of the original video frame resolution.

In my experience, if you have the audio set to within +/- 0.1 second of the video it will look in sync, and 0.1 seconds is +/-6 frames at 60fps. With the audio scaled to 10x, thats 60 sub-frames to work with - which should be waaay more accuracy than needed.

This is very complicated for such a simple little task. I just want to cut some of the section out of the audio and video.
mainly the audio but it's also needed for the video because the audio and video are synced and if I cut one I need the other cut to be exact.

There is an actual way to remove 1/10 frame from either end of the audio instead of sliding to get a half frame accuracy. Both the PDM and optodata show this.

As stated before, unlink the video and audio, set the expanded audio scale 10x in Preferences, expand the timeline ruler to maximum and each tick mark on the timeline ruler is 1/10 frame. Highlight the audio. Use trim on either end of the clip.Place the cursor on the left end of the audio and move it right until it becomes a double headed arrow. Now Click and Drag one tick mark to the right and release the mouse button.You will see only 1/10 frame of audio removed.

Move the scroll bar all the way to the right and see the audio is flush with the video end. You can now do the same using trim on the right end of the audio clip to remove 1/10, 2/10, 3/10 frame, etc. Sliding is optional.
