Hi,
Traditionally, unless you kept the original downloads, you would have to contact CL to get another time limited download location and you would be wise to backup the download files for situations like this.

I don't have any recent perpetual versions on my system to test but it may be that newer versions of CAM may allow users to access perpetual versions.

Perhaps other members can shed some light on the up to date situation?

I have just purchased PowerDirector Ultimate and the link firstly downloads the Cyberlink Application Manager and then following the product key activation does a long old download, auto install and then DELETES the downloaded installation files. After that you cannot re-download presumably because it detects it is already installed. Absolutely NOT as advertised. I'm fuming at only being able to find this out AFTER money has been taken.

I contacted them, and i could not believe what they said "you need to purchase EDS" EXTENDED DOWNLOAD SERVICE?? what!?!?!?

This is absolutely horrendous... what is the purpose of a "LIFETIME LICENSE" if you can't get access to the files on YOUR OWN account that clearly says you paid for?


I hope for their reputation they fix this ASAP

I haven't had a standalone version for years, but neither the installer nor any of the content files were ever deleted after installation and I still have all of them.

If CL is now using the CAM to download lifetime license versions, you can easily download that again as shown in this FAQ. As long as you sign in with the same email address you used when purchasing the license, you should be able to download the app again on any machine.

It sounds like there's been some misunderstanding. CL does offer an extended paid download service but that's completely optional. As shown in the linked FAQ in my above post, CL will provide you with a new link to download any purchased product no matter how long it's been since you purchased it.

I tried that app, and I log in, and it doesn't list any PD20 ULTIMATE Stuff... just this 365 thing and photo stuff

I just want what I paid for ... and no i don't want a refund this is a lifetime license, does this mean when they release PD21/22/23 i can use them as well without paying? Or I have to pay for the newer one too?

They finally emailed me with the DL links (all downloaded and backed up on several drives)
