I have an ATI 3870 video card.
I installed the Catalyst 9.11 driver and Avivo.
I installed the 2220 patch.
I can see the "Enable ATI Stream technology to speed up video effect preview/render" option in the preferences window and i enabled it.
I also can see the "ATI Stream technology" logo in the "About Cyberlink PowerDirector" window.

But i can not select the "Hardware video encoder" option in the produce window to encode a H.264 video clip anyway.

so, anybody know why?

nevermind. I saw you have the AVIVO installed.

Is the 3870 a supported card?

No,it's not in the supported card list on the cyberlink official site. But i can use the AVIVO converter to convert a video clip.I just can do almost everyting that the " Stream technology" allows me to do.

You'll have to contact Cyberlink support to get this resolved. They are the only one's who have the final list of cards that will work.

I don't see why your card wouldn't work. Win8 64-bit Pro Retail
Intel i7-4770
16GB DDR3 1600 8-8-8-24
MSI Z87-G45 Motherboard
ASUS GTX 660 Direct CU II OC 2GB GPU

I have this same issue. I have a Radeon 5850 and I was able to select the Hardware Video Encoder option; however, now I am not able. I tried rolling back video drivers since I had just installed the 9.12 driver and I tried reinstalling powerdirector but no luck. Any thoughts? And yes, ATI Stream is enabled in preferences.

Here is the FAQ
How do I enable the ATI Stream technology feature in CyberLink PowerDirector?

To enable ATI Stream technology in CyberLink PowerDirector, you must first make sure the latest PowerDirector update is installed (You can download the update here: http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/patches_4_en_US.html). After it is installed, please follow the steps below:

1.Confirm that your video card supports ATI Stream technology. ATI Radeon HD 4850 or higher is recommended.
2.Install the latest driver for your graphics card, which is available on ATI's website (ATI Catalyst™ 8.12 Display Driver or above): http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
3.Again confirm that the latest update of PowerDirector is installed. It is recommended that you project ratio is 16:9.
4.Use the MPEG2 or H.264 profile to produce your video.
5.Select Fast video rendering technology and choose Hardware video encoder.

Anyone got a fix on that issue? I've done all the things you have marked important Chu, but still no change.

*edit*

Never mind: The Avivo Video Converter has to be installed. All you guys with HD 5000 series video cards out there. Although they say that "Avivo Video Converter will only work with HD 2000, HD 3000, and HD4000 series products" it is necessary to work with PowerDirector!
