Shape Designer always snaps lines to horizontal and vertical
[Post New]
Is there a way to turn off snapping lines to horizontal and vertical when working with a simple line in Shape Designer?

Even if "Snap to reference lines" is not ticked it is impossible to angle a line just slighty off horizontal and vertical.

Can you tell a little bit more, please or show a screen shot of what is happening. In my environment I can position and set a simple line at any place I like.
(PD scrashed when I tried to copy/paste the simple line trying to add one mre., but thta is beside the point)

Thanks for replying.

Positioning the line (moving it up, down, left and right) work fine for me too. I can also change the length by moving the points nearer ot further apart.

The problem is with rotating the line. That works until the line gets quite close to horizontal or vertical...then...Boom!...it snaps to a horizontal or vertical orientation.

I see what you mean, It snaps to the middle horizal en vertical points in the middle of the screen...... That is indeed annoying.
I suggest that you (on behalf of all of us) submit a request for change using the Rate use & Provide suggestions, behind the File menu tab.

In the meanwhile, try this: In the shape designer, switch from properties to keyframe. In the object settings there is the ability to change the X and Y positions. When I do that (e.g. with up and down arrow the object moves and does not seem to snap to the middle lines. Before you do so, I think, you should size and shape the shape to your wishes and then do the fine positioning.

Thanks for the workaround suggestion.
