How can I insert a transition to a selection of multiple pictures on the timeline.

I looked for answers on the Forum, but I could not find a suitable one for my recent copy of PowerDirector 19 & 365

Does someone have an answer?

There are lots of discussions about this on the forum. Even though many of them are from older versions, the same tool is used although the "apply random transition to all" option has recently been removed.

Here's an answer from July.

Since you say "selection" of pics vs the whole track, you would have to do something similar to these steps. https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/52037.page#post_box_272850

Thanks Jeff, this seems to be the most applicable solution for this item. Strange that Cyberlink doesn't solve this issue that has been so long on the 'issues' list.

One kind of needs to work with what's there and not count on items ever being corrected. Back at PD14 CL monitored a thread for input to PD15, here identified a basic flaw and still not resolved, 5+ yrs latter, https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/125/45634.page#post_box_245935

Many cases like this, so one needs to simply work within limitations.
