PD how to insert a slideshow using slideshow creator at the end of an existing timeline

So I am working on a video that will have stills and motion using various plugins like the slideshow creator. I already used the slideshow creator plugin to add selected images into slideshow that gets added to the timeline. My question is how to get the slideshow to insert at the end of a timeline. For example, I have other elements already on the timeline. It seems that when I use the plugin to add a slideshow using a selected number of images, it addes it only to track 1 at the very beginning moving all other elements on the timeline. I started locking track 1 so it would not move existing elements and then drag over the new slideshow to the end. Any options I might be missing to get a new object added to end of timeline?

As far as I can see that's the only place the new slideshow can be placed when you produce using the Advanced Editing option. On my system, even if I lock track 1, the slideshow still ends up at the start of the track.

Maybe other members will have more insight, but you may want to let CL know you'd like to be able to place the scrubber somewhere on the timline and have the slideshow be placed there when its finished. The best way to do that is to use Rate Us & Provide Suggestions under the File menu.

After the creation of the slideshow (at the start of your project) you always can drag it to another timelineposition, as required.

Hi,

I agree that using the Slideshow Creator from the plugin dropdown does appear to constrain position to the start of track 1. However, a possible workaround is to access the slideshow creator from the timeline.

I can highlight a series of images at any point on any track then, when the Tools button activates >use slideshow creator>use advanced editing to produce the finished slideshow and it will insert at the start of the first image used.

Where the slideshow is produced in the "middle" of content, the slideshow is produced at the start of the 1st image used but the behaviour of other assets on that track and other tracks differs slighty.

If there are no other tracks used the downstream assets on the slideshow track will adjust depending on the final duration of the slideshow.

If there are assets on differing tracks then downstream content adjustment does not take place, although that is not a definitive, all scenarios opinion, just a quick test and observation.

So for a simple "manual" approach, import your images to an empty track, produce the slideshow using the Tools menu and then position the finished slideshow to the end of the video. On the basis of the quick testing I've done, this would be my preferred option. It works independently of track 1 and runs less risk of interfering with other track contents.

Or import your images at the position on your main track that you want the slideshow to start, use the Tools menu, produce but be prepared to adjust other assets accordingly.
