DVD Chapters - Video aspect ratio doesn't appear correct

Hi

Another newbie here. But I have to say crawling through tutorials here and on YouTube has been unproductive. My problem is the video content I include in my chapters has subtitles at base of the screen which are not completely revealed.

It's like the original 16:9 ratio has been reduced or something similar. I can't give you a screenshot because it only happens using the DVD player. Could that be the problem? Using VLC player I see everything as intended just noton theTV using theDVD player.

It's pretty important, when you're laying out titles or subtitles, to turn on the Safe Margin overlays on the Monitor panel and ensure that your text stays within the text safe zone. As you've seen, TVs cut off a bit around the edge of a video. But if you keep your text within the safe zone, your text will never be cut off.

As I show you in my books, you can make this safe zone visible by right-clicking on the image in the Monitor panel and selecting the option to turn on the TV Safe Zone.

If on PC shows all right, playing as DVD.
You may need to change your TV or other zoom settings.
If it is not the TV, check the DVD player's TV output settings
If not, take a picture of the menu on TV and show it here

Thank you Steve. I found that setting in the Modify Template window but my problem is in video playback. Unless this also carries over to include playback. My Titles although outside the safe zone all render fine on a widescreen TV. The title text animation works fine. My included footage has subtitles at the very base of the video as a mp4 before burning. They are being cut off in playback.

Thanks AV. The zoom feature does reveal the subtitles but I was hopig for viewers to avoid that.

Hi - I have what may be the same or similar problem.

Mp4 is fine playing on computer, but if the same project is made to DVD, then the picture is playing a little too low - overall effect is with picture sitting on base of widescreen TV and blackbar at top.

I do edit with TV safe zone set but I have to be very conservative and make my titles a little higher.
But the real problem is that the display looks odd sitting so low.

Broadcast TV and commercial DVDs not affected so its just out of PowerDirector DVD production - not the TVs or video players.
I'm quite disappointed with this.

Is it possible to tweak the DVD output Y (or centre) position in the pds at all?
