Not exactly sure what you mean by "configure", any card should work with PD16 in the sense that PD launches and functions.

If by "configure" you mean using the card with hardware encoding on the Produce tab in PD16, that exercise is probably futile. The GT730 came in two variants, a Fermi and Kepler, use GPU-Z or the like to verify what card you have. The Fermi GPU, often found in some OEM systems, will have no hardware encode capability in PD16, the Kepler will support H.264 but honestly, it's performance will be unappealing, probably better to simply use your CPU for encoding.

Actually I had not considered encoding at all. I need a later version of open cl and wanted hdmi output instead of vga. My computer is a not so new dell optiplex 780 with a 3ghz core2 duo and 8 gb ram.

How do I tell the difference between the 2 versions.

Quote How do I tell the difference between the 2 versions.

As indicated prior, GPU-Z if you have the card installed, if not then the detailed specs of a purchase.

Fermi version will have GF108 code name GPU and always DDR3 memory.
Kepler version will have GK208 code name GPU and can have DDR3 or DDR5 memory but most have DDR5.

I'm not advocating either of these two cards or the purchase site, just using as a example to show specifics relevant to your question.

Fermi example, see the 3rd line "Core Name: GF108" : https://www.newegg.com/p/1FT-0009-00429?Description=N730-2GD3V3&cm_re=N730-2GD3V3-_-9SIAKRFA4K4346-_-Product

Kepler example, see the 4th line "Core Name: GK208" https://www.newegg.com/p/1FT-0009-00420?Description=N730K-2GD5LP%2fOC&cm_re=N730K-2GD5LP%2fOC-_-9SIAKRFA455928-_-Product
