How do I downgrade to Power Director 17

I have PD 365. Everything was fine until the upgrade to PD 18. Now It crashes constantly and has a myriad of bugs. It's completely unusable.

Could someone please tell me how to either downgrad to PD 17 or tell me how I can find a stable retail version of PD 17 to buy.

Thank you.

PowerDirector 17 version of 365 (subscribtion model is not available after Powerdirector 18 was released).

If you have a system backup when Powerdirector 17 was installed, you could restore your computer to when you had PD 17.

You can still find copies of the perpetual version of Powerdirector 17.

Amazon has some. (not cheap). You can search for Powerdirector 17 online.

It's just unbelievable how Cyberlink treats their paying customers, releasing (or better, unleashing) a "new" PD version every year, each with more bugs than the last. Why, I ask? This software could be so much better.

I'm not sure why your experience is what it is, Alex. But every generation of the product just gets better and better, in my experience.

It's kind of unfair to just generally slam the software based solely on your individual experience on one computer. Though I suppose you're welcome to vent rather than ask for help. That's what what forums are all about.

Just know that your experience is not at all typical.

Not to start any rant or be rude, really, I don't want that (sorry in advance if I sounded that way!), but still: Really? Well then, how comeI read the same PD 18 audio bug complaint over and over on this board? Together with so many basic things that just don't work as they should?

I've been using PD for over 10 years (since PD 7) and had countless discussions about the product, which could be SO MUCH BETTER, if they would just concentrate on the quality and functionality of the basic functions of video clip editing instead of giving us another 500 transitions and 250 silly titles and Chinese Graphics packs every two months.

And excuse me: I am a paying customer so I just want (and need!) a good and reliable product. Is that too much to ask..?

I am with StevenG on this one. I would have responded that the OP can downgrade to PD17 by contacting support. After seeing Alex Foster's unuseful rant here, I did not respond because I do not want to contribute to his rant or give him any useful answers to any of his problems at all.
