PowerDirector 17 doesn't support MXF files. See attached.

You'll have to convert the file to use it in your project.

Is there any work on cyberlink 17 or is there any work on it?

because this new model is a camera and I think it should be.

No idea. You'll have to wait and see if it is supported in Powerdirector 18, which comes out in early fall usually.

homes - The link you posted for the mxf file ask for money to get the file and sets off my virus scanner when I click to download it. You should not post links to malicious websites.

There are. You can easily verify the currently supported formats from the PD specs page (this is the US version, but you can change the location at the top right of the webpage, if needed).

However, the only supported MXF format is 4:2:0, and the sample clip you provided is recorded in 4:2:2, so the import error still occurs.

Here are the MediaInfo details of your sample clip:

So, as long as you record to MXF in 4:2:0, you'll be able to edit directly in PD18/365. Otherwise, you'll need to convert the clip, just like with PD17.

My Sony Z190 works with 4K (3840x2160) 4.2.0, but it doesn't support HD (1920x1080) 4.2.2 format ... I've been waiting for it to support this format for a long time and I like the Cyberlink Powerdirector.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you're saying.

The MXF sample clip you provided is clearly 1920x1080 4:2:2, and if it came from your camera, then the Z190 clearly supports/records it. The 4:2:2 chroma settting is also the reason that PD18 can't import it. PD18 should work with your UHD clips (3840x2160 4:2:0) clips without any problem.

Do you have the latest camera firmware? The links and manual are at the bottom of this page, but I'm having trouble finding any MXF resolutions in the manual (pp 114-115) other than the two 720i ones listed there.

This is a volunteer, user-to-user forum, and there isn't anything I can do to change the file types that PD wiill work with.

According to the manual I linked to, the Z190 can record in many different formats, and the only ones that PD18 can't open are 4:2:2 MXF. It's almost the same with PD17, except that it can't read any MXF clips at all.

Is there a reason you're specifically using MXF? I see that it can contain SMPTE time code which makes it compatible with broadcasting, but that kind of workflow generally wouldn't involve a consumer-level editor like PD.

As a result of the settings I made Video and Picture Formats Supported. This format opens with a special code for a fee to support DVCAM (MXF) Format
