The one big feature that I could really use in PD is speed ramping. It seems as though this is impossible. I'm not talking about adjusting the speed of clips, I'm talking about smoothly ramping from a regular speed to slow speed and back to regular speed. I realize you could simulate it with a ton of cuts and adjust the speed for each, but that's not really feasible nor does it look as good as what Premiere can do.
Am I missing something? Is it actually there and I just don't see it, or there is some trick to it? If it's not a feature, any idea when it will be added?
It literally is the only thing that I need premiere for.
analog, to my knowledge PD can't do that, I think what you are asking for is a linear speed change from like 1x-.5x over the video length specified. PD17 can’t do that to my knowledge. The "Ease in" option only affects the first x frames of the speed up section, not a total ease in over the entire length selected so it provides no relief.
The only way to partially achieve the effect is to do it a section at a time. So, one section at 1x, then another manual section at .8x, then another at .6x...so on, as you say, not feasible, it gets pretty tedious to achieve a smooth speed change.
Ramp speed changes have been suggested prior, best you can do in PD is File > Rate Us & Provide Suggestions and provide your suggestion.
