More than likely you use the Add Image button instead of the Set Background button to the right of it. The Image default is Fade In and fade out which you could simply uncheck and just leave it. Hit the play button to ensure the fade is gone now.

It may be better to use the set background button to add the image like you did the first time.

Thanks so much, problem solved! Took away the "picture" and added a "background image" and it worked just as I hoped!

For whatever reason, I have had real issues understanding how the menu screen is created and works. It's like there is two seperate places to edit the screen and neither looks like the other . I guess slowly but surely it will become easier as I work with it more. Again, thanks for your help!
