It sounds like there may be issues with the files AND there may be a limitation in the trial software.
Can you use the free VLC software to play the mkv files?
What kind of issues are you getting? Do you have the issue on all mkv files or just some?
I’ve been make some MKVs from my Matrix and the DeadPool2 Bluray discs. If I make ISO file then PowerDVD works as it should and I now see in this forum and others that over the years that MKV playback has not worked that well in PowerDVD.
The Matrix MKV VCONE(?) and has audio sync and small video shuddering issues in PDVD17. It will not play in VLC and the Windows 10 Movies & TV player shows a missing codec error, audio only.
The DeadPool2 MKV is HEVC. It also has the same audio issues, video shuddering issues and the image is washed out in PDVD17. It will not play in VLC but the Windows 10 Movies & TV player plays it much better. It don’t look washed out and the audio is in sync. ???
I’m guessing that they have done nothing in PowerDVD18 but I just wanted to try it and that is what the demo is for but then they disable features. Why?
