GPU encoding can dramatically speed up producing time, but in the past I've had issues with the quality when using certain transitions or effects. Just an FYI that if any point in your GPU-produced clip seems blocky or "off", try producing with CPU only.
With that said, 6-month-old video drivers are from a
lifetime ago in the GPU world and you
definitely need to update them. The main question is whether to get v411.70 or the newer v416.xx.
Please check the various forum threads and choose v411.70
UNLESS you have the non-subscription version of PD17
and you install the beta patch.
Once you have the new driver installed, then next time you open PD you should be prompted to optimize the GPU again. If not just click this button:
