I don't know if I'm trying to do something that can't be done - thought I don't see why not. In short, I don't seem to be able to add background music to a voice/music track in PD17.

  1. I create a video track

  2. In the media room I go into background music

  3. I download the track I want

  4. I right-click on it and add it to the voice track -nothing happens

  5. I drag and drop it into the voice track - only get the red circle with line thru it icon

  6. I click on the add to voice track button - nothing happens.

same for music track

I can open the sound track manually when I am in the slide show creator - OK

I can't import the clip manually as media.

Am I missing something obvious?

Many thanks if you can help

PD 17 is reported to accept these audio files and formats:
Audio File (Import) ▪ WAV, MP3, WMA, M4A, OGG, FLAC, AAC, AMR-NB, Opus NEW
Audio Format (Import) ▪ AAC, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, WAVE, MPEG-1 Layer III, FLAC, ALAC

The obvious is that you try to use a audio format that is not supported?

I tried to use the built-in background music options - i.e. I downloaded the background music and then tried to add it to the voice or music lines
