TV vs. PC mode

I just installed powerdvd18 ultra and I don't understand the difference between PC mode and TV mode. I've been using powerdvd since version 9 and never did see the difference. Can anyone explain?

Fyi, I'm using a home theater PC with a built-in blue ray drive to feed video via the computer's graphic card hdmi output to a projector, while 5.1 channel audio goes from the PC's discrete audio outputs to my 5.1 channel receiver and thence to my speaker system. Any comment on which mode is best for my setup would be most helpful!

Thanks in advance. - Mike

Let's imagine that you are sitting on your couch, and the TV is at certain distance.
If you project powerdvd on your big TV screen using the PC mode, the interface will be terrible when you wanna read every program options clear. TV mode is better in this scenario.

Thanks, but to be honest, I'm not seeing this difference - maybe I'm just not clear on what you mean by "program options". It's not always even clear what mode I'm in, is the icon in the upper right telling me the current mode or the mode I'll be in if I click on it?

What I have noticed is that if my PC (that's connected to the projector for video) screen resolution isn't set for the recommended max (1920 x 1080, in my case), the English subtitles (my hearing's going bad) are cut off.

Bottom line for me is that I probably need to get some more practice/use of the program in order to fully understand how it works. Thanks again!
