Tutorials here:

How much experience do you have? Have you ever used Windows Movie Maker? Can you see you using this more in the future?

Adding images, music and text are easy having them move is slightly more difficult. There may be some things you want to do that cannot be done with this program (nor any others).

Welcome to the PowerDirector 16 Forum. You mention PowerDVD16, but that is an older version of their media player. If you want to create video content, then PowerDirector 16 is the program that you want.

Pinned to this Forum is a listing of Tutorials: see this link. I particularly recommend the PDToots tutorials. They are very well done and cover a wide gamut of common, and not-so-common, video editing questions.

Good luck and have fun. If you have questions and can't find the answers in the Help files or Tutorials, there are some very knowledgeable volunteers here on the Forum, who will be happy to assist you.

Am I right in thinking that you are edging towards a slideshow rather than an actual moving pictures video? If so, there is an excellent slideshow template in PD16 called "Motion". It is PDs most customisable slideshow with which you can do lots.

As a beginner, you can pick up lots of tips by having a look here https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/65951.page . Read the Newbie Room articles in issues 2 thru 9. In particular, issue 8 details the slideshow templates in PD16.

I hope this will help you with your project.
