Hi everyone. Unfortunately my PD7 always crashes when I come to close the dialogue box after a multitrim.

What I´ve done to try and solve the problem is:

After cleaning out the registry, reinstall with the newest build, 3017
Loaded the latest graphics card drivers
Clean out TEMP files and Defrag the system
Have the display at 16 bit resolution and 1024x768 resolution
Stopped my Antivirus update and my Firewall
Increase my Virtual memory to 3GB

I'm using Vista Home Premium.

I´ve run out of ideas. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi David -

There were issues with a previous build of PD7 (2519?) crashing after trimming/multitrimming, but I don't know of any with the current version (3017).

You've taken the right steps to correct the problem... my suggestion would be to completely uninstall and reinstall PD7.

To COMPLETELY uninstall, you need to use Windows Install Clean Up - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 - then reinstall it.

Some time ago, I had a similar problem. I clicked "Search" and found this... http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/4278.page

AMAZING!

Cheers -

Tony

Great to get your reply Tony. After I did another uninstall, I found Windows Clean Up didn´t find anything for PowerDirector nor was there anything relevant in the Registry.

The only different thing I did this time, following comments on your earlier link, was to reboot after the uninstall and before the reinstall.

Well, I´m kind of frightened to say it too loud, but the problem has now gone away. What a difference being able to multitrim.

Thanks for your time.
