Power DVD 9 failure to install

I purchased the new upgrade to Power DVD 9 ultra and I have installed an original Power DVD 8 ultra.
Everytime I try to execute the upgrade install, it appears a warning saying: installation must abort, you should have installed a version 7 or 8 of Power DVD to complete installation.
What the heck? I have it installed and completely original. Purchased from the same place.
I run Windows Vista home edition.
Power DVD 8 still works perfect!!!

any advice?

Hello,

Which PowerDVD 9 upgrade did you purchase ?
http://www.cyberlink.com/store/powerdvd/upgrade_en_US.html

If you have the PowerDVD 8 Ultra, you should purchase "Upgrade to PowerDVD 9 Ultra from 7/8 Ultra versions".

Same issue here. Have PowerDVD 7 Ultra, purchased 9 Ultra Upgrade and the upgrade does not work.

I am also having this problem. I purchased and installed PowerDVD 7 Ultra, and I just purchased the PowerDVD 9 Ultra Upgrade for 7/8/9 Ultra, but the installer states otherwise. It does not work on Vista nor the Windows 7 RC. This product was listed as Vista-compatible.

I have tried XP Compatibility Mode and that does not help.

The costumer support sent me a link (after 2 days) for downloading the complete version. The first time sent me the link with the date for downloading already expired!!! after 2 other days, they sent me a new link yesterday and I could finally download the software BUT now the activation key they sent me does not work!!!!!
This is a nightmare. And I did purchased the 8 ultra and the 9 ultra on the online shop from them.
After all this horrible customer support, They can not complain people get it for free on the torrents.

Same issue here. Bought the upgrade to 9 from 8, It wouldn't work so I put in a ticket and got a new link for the full version and it won't accept my key. I was also advised not to online activate...why? I bought it right?
