PD 16 keeps crashing
[Post New]
Hello,

I've been using PD 16 for a few weeks now to create my let's plays and have been using the previous versions for a couple of years. I always loved this software because it's easy to use.
Now, today I started the software up again to create a new video, but every time I start cutting or putting in a transfer animation, or just about anything, the software keeps crashing. It's so bad I can't even use the software right now.
So I thought maybe someone on this forum can help me with this problem or maybe someone else is having the same problems right now.
I did install the latest update and all my drivers are up to date as well. I checked before I posted on this forum. And I checked with editing other videos as well, but still the same problem. And there is enough space on my hard drive as well.

Really hope there is a solution to this problem.

PD16 is pretty power hungry. It maybe your PC is struggling more than with previous versions. I would suggest that it would help other people to help you, if you posted a copy of your PCs DxDiag file.

In the meantime try disabling Hardware Acceleration in Prefereces, it may help

Good luck

Unfortunately not. It would be better if you posted it here. Run the DxDiag command in Windows. "Save all information" to a folder of your choice. When you reply here, select attachments and add the file from the folder you chose.

I see your video card is similar to my AMD R9 200.
Here the driver update has problems with HA in PD16, disable maybe solve the problem. see image

The last AMD update that works HA is this, non-whql-win7-64bit-radeon-software-crimson-relive-17.7.1-july10

I'm not an expert, but I would look to the i5 processor as being the weak link. Even i7s struggle at times, but let's see what others think.

Did you disable HA as I suggested? It's really worth a try
