I am using PD15 on a 64 bit 8.1 pc. I am about to start a project about the history, over the last 60 years, of the rural area around where I live involving aerial photography using a drone and I want to create a suitable title. I can't find anything in the Title room anything like what I want. I have worked with titles before very basically but now I want to do something that I don't know how to do.

Basically I want to show 4 static images on the screen, one in each corner, which depict aerial shots of 4 local areas of interest which people will recognise. Nothing difficult about that but then I want to have a circle/square/sphere appear in the middle of the screen, small at first but growing in size and expanding over the 4 views into which I want to place text welcoming viewers with a very short introduction. I will be doing a piece to camera in the next shot and will be doing voice-over during the video and so it will be just a very short bit of welcoming text and so the amount of text, and the space for it will only cover about 1/3rd - 1/2 of the screen with the remainder of the aerial shots still showing

Can anyone guide me please as to how this can be acheived ? Are there libraries of title screen somewhere that I can view ?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be given.

Have you tried New Blue Titler Pro? It can be found in the text room, easiest way to find it is click on "all content" in the text room and skim down to the last option. Drag down to the timeline and double click to open. When you get used to it you can get shapes and all sorts. Panny TM10, GH2, GH4,

Thanks @Shadowman but I do not have a "text room" on my PD15. But I Googled "New Blue Titler Pro" and it appears to be 3rd party software. Or am I going completely down the wrong track ?

Hi Scooby

I am very sorry I should have said Title Room. It's hard enough without idiots like me sending you down the wrong road.

Thanks Robert but I still have a problem, please see my screen grab. There is nothing resembling what you describe in there. The Watercourse title on the bottom line is one I made from a PD template and there are others of mine in there but no New Blue Titler Pro. Are we both using PD15 ? That's what i'm using. Regards - David.

Hi David

It would seem that versions Ultra & Deluxe dont have New Blue Titler Pro included. I am sorry to have misled you.

Thankyou anyway Robert, you didn't mislead me, you were trying to help me and I appreciate that. It's some time since I upgraded to PD15 Ultra and maybe Ultimate wasn't even around then. I used to follow upgrades almost religously but I get so many emails inviting me to pay a bit more money for this & that goodie that frankly I grew tired of it. I am only an amateur at video editing and there comes a time when enough is enough.

But thanks again. I'll have a look around to see if I can find a shape that increases in size or maybe even change the title of my project but I had sort of set my mind on what I initially described.

Kind regards - David.

I have developed a host of tutorials for PowerDirector. Some of them involving titles are here. I'll work on your idea and get back to you. Maybe I can com up with what you are looking for.

I put a sample on the website in the center column of this page. It's called "four videos and a center description". Let me know if it is somewhat like the effect you are looking for.

Jim, you are a STAR. smile Your "four videos and a centre description" is exactly what I'm looking for, in fact it is more than I expected. I hadn't even thought about 4 videos, I have been playing with 4 stills and then placed the Linear Circle (Title Room>General>Linear Circle) in the centre with some text inside it but I'm not keen on that. I think that the expanding silhouette circles crowd out what I am trying to do/say.

As I said, I really like your design, I would prefer an expanding circle instead of an expanding square, it seems a little less harsh but that's only my opinion.

And thank you for the link to your tutorials, I'll go and have a look at that now.

Thanks again Jim from David in the UK. 10 miles from Shakespeare's Stratfor-upon-Avon.

David,

Glad I understood what you were looking for. I'll work on a tutorial for what you saw. I'll do a circle and show you the technique. Hopefully it will be close enough that you can tweak the process to get what you want. Should be up on my channel within a day or two.

That is really helpful Jim. Thank you very much. Sharper Turtle is now one of my Favourites. smile

So glad I joined this forum now. I do love tinkering with video editing but at nearly 72 years of age the brain doesn't quite work like it used to. Kind regards - David.
