The new Windows Creator's Update added a video editor which adds a random Ken Burns to each image. Very cool and huge time saver.

Is this possible with PowerDirector? Googled, but found nothing.

Hi damian5000 and welcome to the Forum

The direct simple answer is Yes, PowerDirector can do such a thing and has offered this for many versions. Not only that, but there are other motions & moods available in the same menu. You can even add music and let the music control the photo changes!

If you add pictures to your timeline and you'll notice that there is new(ish) button called Slideshow

Very briefly ....... When selected another screen will appear and offer you at least 13 choices, some of which can be personalized. You'll find PD will do all the moves for you.

You can find more about using this feature from the Cyberlink library or PowerDirector 16 Tutorials from PD University

Hope that helps

cheers

Hi Damian5000 -

Though PDR's options for this aren't the same as the Photos app in Win 10, there are very similar ones where you can select your photos & clips and drop them into various templates.

For photos only, select them then try Slideshow > Motion (which generates random pan/zoom) or Magic Motion > Random (which does the same sort of thing). Both options are customisable.

If you're using video clips as well, have a look at:

  • Theme Designer

  • Express Projects

  • Magic Style

or any combination of the above.

If you like what the Photos app does, there's no reason not to use it - export (max. output is 1080p) then add to your PDR project.

Cheers - Tony

Damian5000:

Also.... it may be simpler to skip Slideshow and go straight into single image Pan & Zoom by

Using ---> Magis Tools button at left side immediately above timeline
Select ---> Magic Motion -- set images for Pan & Zoom individually
(There's a Random option, plus an Apply To All button there as well)
