So I decided to upgrade to powedirector 16 since some of the new features were hard to pass up, like audio ducking. With PD15 I had all my NEWBlue FX and they all worked just by logging into newblue with my username and password. Since I upgraded and installed all the new Essential packagins that came with PD 16 NEWBlue is now asking me for a Key to activate and I am no longer able to use these effects without a watermark. Im very frustrated as I used the Chroma Key a lot and after contacting Cyberlink they didnt seem to help me much. This is the response I got.

With reference to your query, please be informed that if you are going to use New Blue FX that isi included in PowerDirector 16, you will not be ask for any activation key for it is a plug-in that is included in the software. However, the Activation window will pop up if you have purchased anything from the New Blue website or if you have a trial version. We suggest to uninstall the trial version if you have it on your computer.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Compatibility with New Blue and the various versions of PD is an ongoing frustration. You need to keep previous installments of PD to keep the NB fx, or buy them. I actually have a watermark on some NBfx packages but no only in the library, they work fine in the timeline. See if that is what is happening. A query to New Blue may be helpful. You can always buy them on sale, too.

Thanks for the reply. So my next question would be that I don't ever remember getting a file to download for NewBlue FX and I currently don't have one. Is there anywhere I can get the exe file for version V?

I purchased bundled versions of PD15 and PD16. NB Essential plugins VI and VII in PD16 are watermarked and require a NB serial number to activate. In PD15, VI and VII are activated and not watermarked. Is there a path adjustment or file transfer I can make to move the activated plugins from PD15 to 16?
