Windows 10 Creators Update 1703 won't allow PowerDVD 17 Ultra file associations

Since upgrading to Media Suite 15 and PowerDVD 17 Ultra Update PowerDVD_17.0.1808.60_Patch_DVD170407-03, I can't get Windows 10 Creators Update 1703 to accept associations with PowerDVD 17. The only Cyberlink program that shows up in the possible associations is Photo Director 8. Even when I open a video file from the Windows File Explorer, setting video files to always be associated with PowerDVD 17, the association resets to Windows Movies & TV once I exit File Explorer. I have reinstalled PowerDVD 17 Ultra over the top of the last installation and it has made no difference. Any suggestions for a fix?

Since Windows 10, OS has stricter security limitation that does not allow other program to set file association directly.

You may do it at Windows control panel yourself.

The steps are similar to Windows 7.

Same issue, reinstalling and setting defaults has not resolved. I even tried the patch

Thank you!

This solution took care of the problem after doing an uninstall first.

Try comppletely uninstalling the current installation, reboot, then reinstall it fresh. It worked for me this way.
