Hello and thank you for replying to my post.
I have a 5.4 GB MPEG-2 file encoded under DVD HQ (4 hours) that I want to put on a timeline to splice up in half (onto 2 DVDs). It's a personal video of my family from America's Funniest Home Videos from 1996, and they got a lot of footage.
When I put it on the timeline in Power Director Premium 5, it shows 4 hours, but only 1 hour of viewable video, where it seems like there is a big chunk taken out of the middle. So the timeline shows 4 hours, but only the first hour is viewable.
I purposely set encoding time to 4 hours, because I know I have a lot of footage. I've also tried encoding in 2 sessions of 2 hours to no avail. When I opened it up in PowerDVD, it only played 1 hour of total video. I then opened it up in Windows Media Player and it played the entire 4 hours. The sound/video for what plays in PDP5 and PDVD are right on the mark.
I'd hate to resort to using other software to try this process, since I've spent over $150 on this software. I'm hoping that there is a fix somehow. Maybe I should try encoding using Divx? I do have the updated divx software on my computer, so if that is a suggestion I'll try that.
Again, thank you for your reply, as this will not only be beneficial to me but to others who may be experiencing the same as me.
