What optical drives are supported in PowerDVD 17 for UHD BD playback?
I have Pioneer BDR-207MBK (BDXL) this optical drive are supported?
There are only two optical drives on the market at present that support Ultra HD Blu-Ray, Pioneer BDR-S11J-BK and DBR-S11J-X.

I have asked Pioneer support about support UHD BD on the BDR-207MBK. They answered me:
"As long as your computer software you are running supports this forplayback and decoding then the drive will read this information and pass italong to your software."
LG BH16NS40 is just a conventional BD drive, but NOT a UHDBD drive.
You may see the data files stored on a UHDBD by your BD drive in Windows, but it is NOT equal to suport "UHDBD".
There is no possibilities that a "Blu-ray" disc drive can playback "Ultra HD Blu-ray".
It regards not only firmware, but also "new hardware chipset" is required on disc drive to support such format.
Hence, firmware updates will not be a UHDBD solution for previous BD drive, either.
You should ask Pionner support again that a "BDR-207MBK" truly support "Ultra HD Blu-ray" movie playback?
Don't let them have any chance to fob off you with any vague answers. Ask them a "Yes/No" question directly.
The first UHD-BD drive in the world released on 2017 Q1.
Any optical device released before 2017Q1 is not possible to support UHDBD:

Is the above information very clear for everyone here who wants to play UHDBD on PC?
