You're right on two counts. The CGO3 does use the same Sony IMX177 sensor as the Phantom 3 Pro & GoPro Hero 4. It's also true that there's no lens correction profile available (Adobe doesn't have one either). Note that it's the lens that causes distortion, rather than the sensor.

My experience is that there's very little distortion in photos from the CGO3, whether DNG or JPG. An example is attached.

Could you please post a photo showing the issue you're having?

Here are a few shot specifically to show lens distortion. YUN00037 shows the distortion exists on all 4 sides. When I first got the camera I sent these shots to Yuneec because they advertised a "distortion free" lens. They said this was what they considered distortion free and there was nothing to be done to improve it.

Your brick wall photo would be a good start for creating a lens profile. It certainly shows the lens distortion!

Having never made it through the whole lens profile creation process, I made a simple preset that goes some way to correcting the brick wall. Of course, most shots aren't that extreme.

There's a side by side comparison attached.

Nice. Thanks. The link to the preset was broken - Cyberlink gave an error message. Maybe I can search for it if you give me the name. If the link works for you then maybe it's a permissions thing. Thanks also for pointing me to the profile generator. I appreciate your replies and assume by this point that if someone else had a profile specifically for the CGO3 then they would have posted so this looks like the way to go.

Hmmm. The DZ link works here in Edge, Chrome & Waterfox. For searching, the preset is called CGO3-2 under my PIX account.
