Issue: the audio of the video footage recorded by PowerDirector 15 v2309 Screen Recorder gets distorted when the Windows audio playback device is set to 2 channels.

How to implement the hot-fix:

1. Download the hot-fix exe via the links below:

- 32bit OS: http://download.cyberlink.com/ftpdload/cs/temp/VDE162039-0001/x86/ScreenRecorder.exe

- 64bit OS: http://download.cyberlink.com/ftpdload/cs/temp/VDE162039-0001/x64/ScreenRecorder.exe

2. Browse the folder C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector15 in your PC.

3. Rename the file exe in the folder C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector15 as the backup.

4. Copy the downloaded exe to the same folder.

5. Launch Screen Recorder and check if it works normally.

Note: the issue only happens when the audio playback device is set to 2 channels in Windows Playback Device settings. If the Screen Recorder of PowerDirector 15 v2309 works normally, it is not necessary to implement the hot fix.

Could you please explain this in "dummy terms" on how to do this? I can get to the destination folder, but I don't understand what it means to rename it as a back up. I'm a little computer literate, but not enough to really understand all of the lingo. I would need a little more of an explanation. I've downloaded the appropriate patch or "hot link". Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Excellent thread sorted my problem...

What the OP is saying from Explorer you can right click and select rename, then just add ".old" to the file in question .e.g ScreenRecorder.exe.old

that way you have the old file, in this case the old file is not much good so you could just overwrite the file with the one you have downloaded.

i.e. download the file to C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector15 and overwrite the file if you are prompted to do so.

Why can't there be a video made about this? Because that would be more easier to follow. It literally does not work for me, the audio still keeps being distorted.

It's frustrating.
