I can succesfully compile up to 1920-1080 movies.

Just for the heck of it I tried the 4K option, seveal short 1 min clips to see what it would look like.

Anything much longer shows several hours processing time for a 5 min length..very modest computer

2.6H 8G memory .. does 1920-1080 in quick time

All i get at the end for the 4K option is a wave sound file with no movie. Is this because of my lack of processing power or something else ?

Thank You

Yes, that was a problem. A few basic questions to help isolate issue and suggest corrective action.

1) What released version of PD14 are you using?
2) Are you using "Fast video rendering technology: with Hardware video encoder" checked during produce? If so, what GPU model and what version of drivers?

Thank you

PD14 Ultimate 64bit V14.0.28.20.0

I have the Intel built in graphics in the chip.

Under Hardware acceleration I have 2 items checked..

"Enable Intel Effect Acceleration technology to speed up video effect preview/render"

"Enable hardware decoding"

I can produce a 60 min 1920 x 1080 movie in about 1 hour with my slow system which is quite acceptable and usable as well as excellent quality.

Although it is no major concern I would have liked to see what a 1 min clip in 4K looks like.

Cheers

Attach a picture of your "Produce" page, not the pref page options, so one can see what you have set for your produce settings when you only get audio.

I can't figure out how to add the attachement ?

I "choose file" it shows the file name BUT no option to download/upload it

If it helps I chose the H265 HEVC one (not the audio wave icon)

also tried the H264 AVC option with the same result ..Audio only

the QUALITY reads MPEG4 4K 4096 x 2160/25

Cheers

Try with options shown in attached pic to get your desired 1 min clip in 4K to see what it looks like. Just so you know, taking lower quality video stream and upscaling to 4K is really not what 4K looks like.

I am so embarrased

It turns out that PD14 was actually producing the 4K files from the get go.

I was confused by the fact that when trying to play it with the Windows media palyer(my default)it could't handle it and only played the audio as well as showing the movie Icon as a wave file.

I became suspicious when it showed that the clip was 189 meg size ...how could a 2 min audio file possibly be that large thinks I

So I had a look under properties and it was listed as a MP4 file. Tried VLC player and it showed images of sorts but very choppy, could'nt handle it either. Finally I converted it to DVD and played on the big screen, perfect, no choppines crystal clear.

The only draw back is that with my low end system the 1 hr long 1920 x 1080 movies I currently produce take about 55 min (very reasonable) 4096 x 2160 would take about 19hrs so I'll wait till my next upgrade.

I appreciate the effort you put in trying to help
