Well, I'm using a 3rd gen Intel i7. Slideshow rendering seems more stable. PDR 14 crashed especially when rendering the transition parts. I don't have a dedicated video card so I really cannot test rendering in hardware, but CPU rendering seems more stable than PDR 14 Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro
Secondary Machine: Lenovo Y510p, Intel i7-4700MQ 2.4Ghz, 2x nVidia GT750M, 500GB SSHD, Windows 10 Education

Does not make much sense, if you have 3rd generation I7, name a Intel i7-3610QM of sig, one can use the HD4000 GPU hardware rendering for the formats supported as is true with any dedicated GPU. You may have elected to use CPU encoding but you are not constrained to it.

Yes, you're right. I'm using the CPU for rendering because I don't have a dedicated hardware capable of encoding to HEVC. In PDR 14, when I rendered a slideshow in 4K HEVC, PowerDirector would crash with the 4th gen CPU from the Lenovo Y510p laptop. Now that I could setup my i7-3610QM in the mini-itx board I got, I find it surprising that the 3rd gen CPU is working way better than the 4th gen CPU. I haven't tested PDR 15 in the 4th gen CPU because my intentions is to add an Nvidia GTX 1060 which should be here by monday to the mini-itx board to be able to encode/decode HEVC videos and to be able to edit 4K videos efficiently. With the 4th gen CPU I'm stuck with the Intel HD 4600 and the 2 nVidia GT 750M from the laptop and of course, no HEVC encoder. Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro
Secondary Machine: Lenovo Y510p, Intel i7-4700MQ 2.4Ghz, 2x nVidia GT750M, 500GB SSHD, Windows 10 Education

It's here
http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdirector-ultra/features_en_US.html
Ultimate upgrade $84.99

When do we get a new Forum?
Hope they don't dump us into "Previous Versions"

I'm sure we would all like to know what's new and improvements added as per "Suggestions for PDR 15" which has had almost 18k views.

Is it a new render engine?

Can we start a new thread?

I expected a big announcement. Haven't even had an email so far.

Hi all

just saw the PD15 is out !
The titler Pro 1.5 would interest me too with Ultimate version.
Do you know more about the real performance in editing ? a new engine truevelocity.. any tests by here ?

Will certaineny move from 14 to PD15 ultimate to get those plugins but would like to be sure that my Pixelan plugins are also well supported. Will mail a question to Pixelan and keep the forum informed... I7 950, 10 Go Ram, GTX960, SSD 256, HD 2 To, with professional music devices.

Another bug: The Sift 1 transition from PDR 14 is not applied in PDR 15 and makes me manually find the Sift_1.png file. Solution is to remove the transition from the timeline and reapply the Sift 1 transition from PDR 15 Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro

Watched Malieks excellent video, unfortunately there is nothing new or useful for me in in PD15.

Maybe it will burn 60P HD Br that work on my Sony player?

Actually I use TsMuxer to make that possible.

No UHD BR burning, bummer.

Sorry about the sour note.

Well, if PowerDVD 17 comes with UHD BR player, then we can assume that PowerDirector 16 will have UHD BR authoring Main Machine: Jetway NF9G-QM77, Intel i7-3610QM, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 3GB, 128gb SSD, Windows 10 Pro

Here is another intro video from Cyberlink
http://www.cyberlink.com/prog/product/html/28546/Ultra/features.jsp#

I got an email from Malek - otherwise I would have never known 15 was out. 360 is impressive but I don't use it.
I wonder if it handles UHD/4k any better? etc. etc.
Would be nice if they acknowledged our efforts and gave us a list of improvements added from this Forum PDR15 Wishlist.

I'm more concerned about stability, output quality and preformance than more new features.

Al

Totally agree on that !

I had no stability issue with DP14, but I found that today in 2016, we should have more fluidity on the timeline in full HD with GPU-based algorithms

  • viewing the timeline, scrubbing the cursor

  • audio editing in not that good, slow (I have a i7950 and the GTX960)

  • applying FX (some of the Pixelan G¨¨U-based work very nicely)

  • etc.

Don't find any information on performance with PD15... I7 950, 10 Go Ram, GTX960, SSD 256, HD 2 To, with professional music devices.

I cannot tell about speed between PDR 14 and PDR 15, as I just got a new Nvidia 1060, renderings are way too fast compared to my old Nvidia 750M. However, at least when working with slideshows before I installed the Nvidia 1060, the timeline was working way better than PDR 14 and renderings didn't crash as PDR 14 did before. BTW, moving from PD14 to PD15 what is the right method:
- un-instal PD14 first ?
- install diretly PD15 ?

but what's happened with the my AudioDirector 6 ? re-instal or recognized ?
in you have any experience on that ... Thanks a lot.

Just install PD15. Nothing should happen with AudioDirector 6. It will still be there.

Can i uninstall PD 14 after installing PD 15 without loosing anything?
Can i run PD 14 on one laptop and PD 15 in another laptop?

(i am new to PD - been using Pinnacle, but thought I'd try something new.)

Thank you in advance tss
